Grade school program offers insight into nuclear medicine career

CHICAGO — High schoolers dreaming of a career in nuclear medicine have a rare opportunity this weekend. Professionals will be on hand at a daylong career interest program, providing information on education requirements, scholarships, career guidance and support for becoming technologists. Attendees will learn about personalized, precision medicine, including guiding patients through MRI, PET, CT and X-ray scans or joining pharmacy staff. CHICAGO — More than 40 wounded warriors are getting ready for "Soldier Ride Chicago." The three-day ride starts Thursday and ends with a cruise through downtown.Each bike will be fitted to each wounded warrior and to their specific needs and injuries. For some, this will be the first time they've been on a bike in decades.This will be Nick Morrison's first Soldier Ride, but he has been through several wounded warrior programs since his return. He served in Iraq in 2005 and 2006. Morrison said there is just nothing like being around his fellow soldiers."I like to say we train together, we fight together, we get disciplined together. So why after the fact heal together," Morrison said.Morrison said he has not been on a bike in nearly a decade, but is ready for the Soldier Ride.Thursday's ride is one of about 40 across the United States. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Genuine Automotive isn't just trying to take your money. Its mechanics want to make sure you survive everyday car problems, and those pesky ones that could be an inconvenience in this scorching Texas summer heat. It's why it started a TikTok page to educate its customers in the city and beyond. Some of its videos have gotten nearly a half million views, and it has more than 20,000 followers on the popular social media app. Now, the shop is considering doing a new 'heat tips' TikTok because of increased jobs tied to heat issues. In temperatures that feel hotter than 110 degrees, the owner of Genuine Automotive, Dwayne Saunders, said most of the vehicles coming through their shop right now have broken A/C units. Why? Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are bringing their "Restless Leg Tour" to the Bass Concert Hall on October 12 and 13. Tickets will go on sale Friday, June 23 at 10 a.m.Both women are writers, producers, actresses and Saturday Night Live alumni. The property was then bought by Daley Hospitality Group, who are working to open The Delaware Restaurant & Bar.
