Nathan Eovaldi tosses complete game shutout as Yankees bats go silent in loss to Rangers ARLINGTON – Former Yankees starter Nathan Eovaldi thoroughly dominated his former team Saturday, cruising through the injury-riddled New York lineup in a complete-game shutout for the Texas Rangers.Eovaldi only allowed three hits and struck out eight in the 2-0 win over the Yankees, who dropped their second straight in Arlington without star slugger Aaron Judge. The 33-year-old Eovaldi — who signed a two-year, $34 million contract with Texas in the offseason — entered with 5.20 ERA and hadn’t gone more than six innings in a game this year. But Eovaldi, who went 23-11 with the Yankees from 2015-16, returned to form Saturday, repeatedly hurling fastballs a few ticks faster than the 93.9 mph he averaged over his first five starts.Yankees starter Jhony Brito traded zeroes with Eovaldi over the first four innings but gave up a two-run home run to Ezequiel Duran in the fifth that proved to be the difference. Brito struck out five batters in five innings and fell to ...

Is Toronto seeing an increase in random attacks? A Toronto man is speaking out after being threatened and assaulted by two strangers, hoping that by sharing his experience more people will be aware of their surroundings and avoid similar situations. Nick Lachance says he was on his way to get a haircut when a man on a scooter bumped into him in the area of Spadina Avenue and College Street recently. However, he tells CityNews that the initial bump quickly escalated into something more. Lachance said the man became aggressive and then began spitting on him before reaching into his pocket and pulling out what appeared to be a knife. That’s when he says a second man showed up, also armed with a blade. “Once the second person showed up it was very clear it was an orchestrated plan,” he said.“They saw a camera on my shoulders, it’s not a small camera,” explained Lachance, who is a photojournalist. He said he resisted giving it up and eventually managed to flee the scene without suffering any physical...

Most beer drinkers support brands working with transgender spokespeople: poll (The Hill) — Most beer drinkers support brands working with transgender spokespeople, according to a new poll taken amid conservative criticism over a partnership between Bud Light and transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. A Morning Consult poll released Thursday found that 53% of monthly beer drinkers said they would feel favorable toward a brand working with a transgender spokesperson, while only 28% said they would feel unfavorable toward the brand. About 20% said they do not know or have no opinion. Those who drink beer at least once a month leaned more Democratic and younger than those who said they do not drink beer at all, but 47% of all adults surveyed said they would also view a company working with a transgender spokesperson favorably. Only 28% said they would view the company unfavorably, while a quarter said they don’t know or have no opinion. Controversy arose this month after Mulvaney shared a sponsored post on Instagram to promote Bud Light’s March Madness contest. Dozens of colorful floral bouquets were inside the lobby and the church. Friends left written messages that were displayed. The Rev.
