AUSTIN (KXAN) — Despite the abnormally warm temperatures in Central Texas, fall is here and along with it a reminder from doctors who say some viruses tend to hit hard this time of year."We are urging people to take advantage of the vaccines and treatments we have available,” said Dr. Rosha McCoy with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMS). “Prevention is always the best way so you don't get sick or in the hospital or get long-term symptoms.”When it comes to the flu, McCoy urges you to get the vaccine as soon as possible.“The flu vaccine is available. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 17-year-old has been arrested following a shooting investigation, according to the Albany Police Department. On September 27 at 7:50 p.m., police responded to the 300 block of South Pearl Street following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Scotia man was arrested on Wednesday and is accused of attempting to entice a minor. Zachary Long, 23, faces a minimum of 10 years in prison if convicted. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), between August 22 and September 27, Long exchanged texts with someone in Albany. In those messages, Long allegedly expressed the desire to engage in sexual conduct with a minor. The DOJ says Long and the other person had discussed plans to meet at a prearranged location to engage in sexual acts with the child. Long arrived at the location on Wednesday, was met by law enforcement, and was arrested. Pharmacies say they’re not getting the boosters as quickly as they expected and some are reporting a gap in vaccination availability. “There have been some shipping difficulties,” said Leigh McConchie, president of the Pharmacist’s Society of New York. CLAIR, Mo. - A high school English teacher is on leave after school administrators discovered her profile on the pornography website OnlyFans.Brianna Coppage, 28, told FOX 2's partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that her access to school email and other software has been revoked while the district investigates. One of the state parole officers injured in Colorado Springs during a hit-and-run crash has died, according to the Colorado Springs police department.Justin Andrew Kula, 41, the alleged driver, was the subject of a CBI Blue Alert for the incident at North Spruce and West Bijou streets on Thursday. He was found and apprehended later that evening about 7 p.m.Two parole officers were struck by a vehicle at about 3:45 p.m. Both went to the hospital, one with serious injuries.Police reported the parole officer’s death in a 10:40 p.m. update on Facebook. Pueblo Counties deputies Thursday arrested a man on murder, vehicular homicide and child abuse charges in connection to an August crash in which three people died.Kohen Garrett Kyle, 32, is charged with three counts each of first-degree murder, reckless vehicular homicide and DUI vehicular homicide and one count of child abuse resulting in death after an Aug. 23 crash that killed Marie Quintana, 56, of Aurora, Jesus Guerrero-Lopez, 48, of Denver, and Quintana’s 12-year-old grandson, according to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies on Aug. 26 responded to a report of a crash in the 800 block of North Purcell Boulevard and found that Kyle, driving a 2015 BMW 550, was allegedly traveling south on Purcell when it crossed the center line and hit a northbound 2017 Honda CRV.Quintana, her grandson and Guerrero-Lopez all died at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
