PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Scientists have long been kept up at night by one question: are we alone in the universe? Oregon's McMenamins UFO Fest is celebrating its 23rd year this weekend, but did you know that the state's extraterrestrial roots run much deeper?The UFO Fest found its home in McMinnville in 1999, 49 years after a local UFO sighting became national news. (BCN) -- A fatal crash took place on northbound state Highway 29 in Napa County early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash happened on Highway 29 in the vicinity of Mee Lane and the first reports of the crash came in around 1:58 a.m., the CHP said. (BCN) -- A Las Vegas man was arrested Friday on suspicion of setting a window on fire at a Pacifica classroom, then breaking the window to get into the classroom and stealing numerous items, police said. Bay Area city drops out of Top 10 in most-populous US cities The case began Wednesday when police responded to the school on the 900 block of Oceana Boulevard to investigate a possible burglary. The officers determined that someone had entered the campus during the early morning hours, set fire to the classroom window, broke the window, stole items and fled, according to police. Police were able to obtain surveillance video of the incident and distributed it among officers in hopes of tracking down the suspect, police said. Patrol officers with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office recovered three stolen cars on Tuesday during a series of events involving a woman who arrived in a stolen car to pick up four juveniles who had been arrested in connection to the theft of two other cars.Just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, Charles County officers came across two Hyundais that had been reported stolen, parked in a business parking lot, according to a press release. When officers attempted a traffic stop, both drivers sped off.
