Rain chances remain in the forecast through at least the weekend AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The morning started overcast with areas of fog. By early this afternoon the sun was shining brightly on Central Texas.The afternoon will be warm with highs peaking in the upper 80s to low/mid 90s. The heat index will rise to the mid/upper 90s.Rain chances this afternoon seem to be confined to areas east of I-35 with isolated showers and thunderstorms.The Storm Prediction Center is watching the Hill Country this evening for possible severe storms with a category 1 out of 5 (marginal risk) for hail 1" in diameter and higher and wind gusts exceeding 50 to 60 mph.
