Jury finds Denver man guilty for role in killing of woman with AR-15 after fender-bender via Denver ChannelPamela CabrialesA Denver jury convicted a man of second-degree murder Wednesday for giving a 14-year-old boy permission to shoot at a woman with an AR-15-style rifle after a fender-bender two years ago.Jurors concluded Neshan Johnson, 20, was responsible for the death of 32-year-old Pamela Cabriales even though investigators believe the 14-year-old actually fired the fatal shots.The jury agreed with prosecutors that Johnson, an established gang member, gave the teenager, an aspiring gang member, permission to open fire. Defense attorneys argued Johnson never gave permission and that 14-year-old was out of control and acted on his own.Johnson was convicted of three less serious charges than he originally faced after a seven-day jury trial in Denver District Court and about one day of deliberation by jurors.He was charged with first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree murder with extreme indifference and attempted first-degree murder, but was only convicte...

Woman found with significant injuries inside vehicle in Santa Monica Police are investigating after a woman was found bloodied and injured inside her car in Santa Monica in January 2023.Officers received reports of a crash at the intersection of 17th and Olympic around 11:40 p.m., according to the Santa Monica Police Department.When police arrived, they found the victim’s Jeep Wrangler had jumped the curb and run into a wall on a sidewalk at the intersection.The woman was found sitting in the driver’s seat with “significant injuries to her face with blood on her hands, face, and body,” said police.Investigators determined the injuries were not consistent with the car crash.The woman told authorities she had trouble remembering several hours of the day including how she was injured.“Based on the victim’s injuries, along with evidence in the car, detectives believe the victim was violently attacked while inside of her Jeep,” authorities said.No witnesses have come forward and no suspects have been arrested, police said.
