Most people in ‘America’s Heartland’ will forgo updated COVID vaccines: Survey (The Hill) - Nearly 60 percent of Americans living in the Midwest and surrounding states say they will not get the new COVID-19 vaccine this year, according to a survey from Emerson College Polling. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved an updated new COVID-19 booster in September, targeting currently circulating variants of the disease.  But more than three years since the onset of the pandemic, fewer Americans are opting to get booster shots. According to the YMCA of Central Texas, the 9th Annual Christmas Dreams & Snowy Things event will have more than 50,000 pounds of real snow, snow tubing, arts and crafts, cookie decorating, carnival rides, bounce houses, games, interactive holiday booths, food and music.You can also drop off donations of new coats, toys or shoes for families in need at the 14-foot-tall “Maxwell Miracle Tree”. Ulster County state police officer dies of 9/11-related illness KERHONKSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Police has announced the passing of Christopher Rock, a retired technical sergeant with the New York State Police. New York State Police say technical sergeant Rock died on Sunday from an illness stemming from his assignment at the World Trade Center site, following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. His career spanned 26 years with the state police and he retired on September 27, 2013. He was last assigned to Field Command, Division Traffic. State Police say Rock was assigned to New York City to aid in the search and recovery efforts following September 11. He is from Kerhonkson and is survived by his wife.
