DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Police Department is asking for the public's assistance regarding a shooting that took place at 16th Street and Wazee Street.The shooting happened around 1:51 a.m. on May 6, according to DPD.An adult man was injured, but expected to survive. DPD is asking anyone with information or surveillance video of the incident to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. An investigation into a South Florida cold case has finally been solved after more than 60 years.The victim, Joseph DiMare, was found dead in his vehicle back in 1961. His wife, Frances DiMare, always alleged that they were the victims of crooks who knocked her unconscious and shot her husband. Investigators said her inconsistent statements and a trail of evidence revealed that it was Frances who kill her husband, who was possibly motivated by an impending divorce. Fire crews are working to contain a brush fire in Florida City. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the scene at 617 E. Palm Drive, Tuesday afternoon. The fire burned through the dry brush that borders those homes. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where crews attempted to extinguish the flames. Florida Forest Service was also at the scene to assist firefighters. 14 acres have burned so far, and 25% of the fire has been contained. As a result of the fire, smoke was seen heading towards a residential area. No injuries were reported. How the fire started is unknown. A North Dartmouth man charged in connection with a deadly stabbing in Chelsea this week appeared in court Tuesday, where he was ordered held without bail. Officials announced the arrest of Angel Alvarez less than a day after a spokesperson for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said a woman was found with multiple stab wounds at a building on Lafayette Avenue. A 7NEWS source said the woman was later taken by ambulance to a local hospital and did not survive. In court, prosecutors said the victim had a restraining order against the suspect. Alvarez, 65, is accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend, 59-year-old Margarita Morehead, who prosecutors said was found in a pool of blood inside her first floor residence.
