(WTEN) -- As the clock ticks down to the state's April 1st budget deadline, Republican lawmakers are once again pushing for a constitutional amendment called the New York State Budget Transparency Act. NYS Budget could include streaming service tax  In New York, bills are supposed to age for three days, allowing lawmakers and the public an opportunity to review them. In previous years, that method was bypassed during budget season with “a message of necessity” -- used to push bills through without that three-day review period. Teen girl arrested in fatal Brighton shooting A 15-year-old girl has been arrested as a suspect in the shooting death of a 44-year-old Brighton man.Just after midnight Tuesday, officers were sent to the 400 block of North 6th Avenue on a welfare check for a “man who had not been heard from in several days,” according to a Brighton Police Department news release.Officers found the body of Joseph Johnson, who had been shot, inside a residence, police said.About 1 p.m. Tuesday investigators arrested the teenage suspect in Castle Rock. She was taken to the Brighton police headquarters and then booked into the Prairie Vista Youth Services Detention Center, police said, for investigation of murder and motor vehicle theft.The suspect’s identity was not released because of her age. The police investigation will be presented to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.
