AUSTIN (KXAN) — At the Texas High School Coaches Association Convention and Coaching School on Sunday, Texas Longhorns head football coach Steve Sarkisian shared some of his recruiting philosophy and the symbiotic relationship between the Longhorns and high school coaches.Sarkisian highlighted that the most recent recruiting class included 25 high school players and five transfers. Chef Gilberto Cetina’s restaurant Holbox has been chosen as the Los Angeles Times’ 2023 Restaurant of the Year. Located near the entrance of the Mercado la Paloma in Historic South-Central, Cetina opened Holbox, which is dedicated to the coastal flavors of Mexico, in 2017. “Holbox is our little corner of coastal Mexico,” Cetina told KTLA. “We are a kitchen that does food from all coastal regions of Mexico seen through the lens of Southern California ingredients.” Growing up in Mexico, Cetina said he’d go diving with his cousins, which was his first contact with ultra-fresh seafood that they pulled straight out of the ocean to take home and cook. DENVER (KDVR) – In preparation for the extreme heat coming this week, the City and County of Denver is setting up cooling stations at area recreation centers for the public to use.An extreme heat advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, and Tuesday is forecast to be hot as well. DENVER (KDVR) -- Allergy season is in full swing and for some Coloradans symptoms have been especially bad. "This season has been really bad," Jocelyn Kury told FOX31. “I’ve had nine years of allergy shots and this year is unquestionably horrible.” Dr. Rebin Kader, an allergist with UC Health Medical Center, said his office has been busy. “I would say the past 2-3 months, I’ve had patients where they never seek allergy care before, come into my office asking for treatment as quickly as possible,” Kader said. “From the past few years that I’ve been here, this has been the most bothersome for my patients in terms of symptoms."Kader said the recent weather has not only extended, but heightened allergy season. “Every time you have rain, wind, you’re going to get a little more vegetation if there’s more moisture in the air, and then the wind just carries all that pollen with it,” Kader said. “Studies show there’s been higher amounts of pollen, about 20% more pollen in...Latest news
