Elderly woman seriously injured after being hit by garbage truck in Toronto Toronto police said a woman in her 80s has been rushed to a hospital after she was struck by a garbage truck.Officers were called to the Jarvis Street and Shuter Street area just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday for reports that a truck had hit a pedestrian.A woman in her 80s was later rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.Shuter Street is closed eastbound from Jarvis for the investigation.

(AP) — Wisconsin’s state archaeologist has died after being found unresponsive during a training dive in a Madison lake.Rescuers pulled 63-year-old James Skibo from Lake Mendota on Friday morning, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.Wisconsin Historical Society Director and CEO Christian Overland said Skibo was with two other divers training for the upcoming season. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office said the cause of death is still under investigation.
