Nick Taylor wins Canadian Open, first Canadian champion since 1954 TORONTO (AP) — Nick Taylor became the first Canadian in 69 years to win his national open, holing a 72-foot eagle putt on the fourth playoff hole to beat Tommy Fleetwood in the RBC Canadian Open on Sunday.Taylor tossed his putter into the air and jumped into the arms of his caddie after the longest made putt of his PGA Tour career, and fellow Canadian players Mike Weir, Corey Conners and Adam Hadwin were among those who ran out to the green to congratulate him.“I’m speechless. This is for all the guys that are here. 2 firefighters, 3 residents hospitalized after blaze tears through Mattapan triple-decker Three residents and two firefighters were taken to the hospital after a fast-moving fire raced through a multi-family home in Mattapan on Sunday, leaving 25 people displaced, officials said.Crews responding to a reported structure fire on Cummins Highway around 7 p.m. immediately struck a second alarm as a large plume of black smoke filled the neighborhood, according to a fire officials.Crews worked to contain the fire to the single building and it was under control in about an hour.Those hospitalized suffered minor injuries.The American Red Cross is assisting those displaced.
