Lanes reopen after possible shooting on I-580 in Oakland (KRON) -- All lanes of eastbound Interstate 580 in Oakland were shut down due to a possible freeway shooting, the California Highway Patrol said Wednesday morning. Lanes have since reopened.The Oakland Police Department reported possible gunfire in the area around I-580 at Grand Avenue to CHP at 4:58 a.m., CHP said. By 5:31 a.m., CHP was on scene to close traffic lanes for the investigation.No victims or vehicles related to the possible shooting were found, CHP said. The investigation remains ongoing.Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes. Lanes were reopened as of around 6:30 a.m., police said.This is a developing story. 1 hospitalized after West Oakland shooting Tuesday (KRON) -- A victim who was shot in Oakland on Tuesday is expected to survive, the Oakland Police Department said.A shooting was reported from a ShotSpotter activation on the 600 block of 25th Street in West Oakland just before 1:45 p.m., police said. Officers arrived on scene and located evidence that a shooting occurred. No victim was found at the location.Later Tuesday afternoon, police were notified that a person with a gunshot wound arrived at a local hospital. Investigators determined that the victim at the hospital sustained their injuries from the shooting on 25th Street. The victim is currently in stable condition, police said.
