SAN JOSE — Authorities said a man being held at Santa Clara County Main Jail was pronounced dead after deputies found him unresponsive inside his cell Saturday afternoon.Sheriff’s deputies performing a welfare check found the 74-year-old man inside Main Jail Dorm 2B at 2:05 p.m. and administered CPR until medical personnel arrived, according to a news release from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. The man was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 2:55 p.m.Authorities did not release the man’s name Monday morning, pending notification of next of kin.The sheriff’s office said a preliminary investigation showed no evidence of foul play or suspicious circumstances leading to the death. WALNUT CREEK — A senior care living home is fighting to remain open following the death in 2022 of a resident who drank poison.Atria Senior Living on Montego may have its license revoked following a filing by the state’s Department of Social Services to take it away. The DSS filed the legal action on April 27.A Contra Costa County coroner’s report said 94-year-old Constantine Canoun died of injuries consistent with drinking a caustic cleaning agent. (KRON) -- The PG&E power outage map shows power has been restored to thousands of customers Monday after a power outage in Daly City, South San Francisco and Colma.Power shut off at approximately 9:52 a.m. Monday. As of about 11 a.m., the outage was impacting 5,606 customers. The cause of the outage is under investigation. North County Fire Authority crews were at scene of an underground electrical vault fire on Camelot Court in Daly City.
