DENVER (KDVR) -- Police shot and killed a person in Jefferson County Wednesday afternoon and an investigation is now underway into the use of force.According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the shooting happened near Callae Drive and Piano Meadows Drive in Conifer. Roads were closed nearby but there was no threat to the public as of 1:44 p.m. Wednesday.A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said deputies were initially called for a report of a man who was threatening suicide. AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) -- An attorney representing the family of a 14-year-old who was killed by police in Aurora is asking questions about the level of response used by officers.FOX31's Vicente Arenas spoke with attorney Siddhartha Rathod who said Jor’Dell Richardson's family will be at a news conference Friday after Aurora Police release the video of the shooting involving the 14-year-old. DENVER (KDVR) -- Renting for pet owners in Colorado might become cheaper starting next year after a bill capping pet deposits and fees was signed into law.Gov. Jared Polis signed House Bill 23-1068 into law Wednesday afternoon. The bill was passed by both chambers in April.The new law will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2024.What does the new law do?The bill, as passed and signed into law, limits pet security deposits to $300. These deposits must be refundable, as well.It also limits any pet fee to $35 or 1.5% of the rent, whichever is higher. This fee is not refundable and is added to the monthly rent. DENVER (KDVR) -- A jogger was attacked by more than a dozen cows while on a trail in Boulder County.The jogger was exercising on Meadowlark Trail when the attack happened. There were 15-20 cows involved, according to a spokesperson for Boulder County Parks and Open Space.A rancher leases the land for grazing, according to the spokesperson. (AP) — Brandon Montour took a baby break between the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final.With wife Ryian going into labor earlier than expected, the Panthers defenseman left Las Vegas not long after the series opener and flew back to Florida on a private jet.
