MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Manchester City’s perfect start in the Premier League is over after a shock loss to Wolverhampton on Saturday, with rivals Tottenham and Arsenal taking full advantage.City’s lead at the top was cut to one point after it fell to a 2-1 defeat at Molineux, which ended its 100% record in the top flight this season.Tottenham moved up to second as Joel Matip’s own-goal deep into stoppage time secured a 2-1 win against nine-man Liverpool. Arsenal beat Bournemouth 4-0 and is up to third, behind Spurs on goals scored. City’s defeat came after Pep Guardiola’s side was knocked out of the English League Cup by Newcastle on Wednesday. The Spain international still has two more games to serve and will miss the clash with Arsenal at the Emirates next week. “Rodri is an importa...1 killed, 2 injured in crash with RTD bus in Denver

An exit poll from Saturday’s election in Slovakia indicated the liberal, Western-oriented Progressive Slovakia was leading the leftist-populist Smer opposition party. Polls closed at 10:45 p.m. CET, with an exit poll from the Focus agency and the TV Markíza commercial station published minutes later. The exit poll showed Progressive Slovakia, led by Michal Šimečka, in front with 23.5 percent of the vote, followed by former Prime Minister Robert Fico’s Smer with 21.9 percent. By political custom in Slovakia, the front-runner gets the first chance at forming a majority in the 150-seat parliament. With the country profoundly polarized, that rule theoretically puts Šimečka, a former journalist and Oxford PhD, in a strong position to form a coalition for what would be his first term as prime minister. Saturday’s ballot is seen as pivotal to Slovakia’s democratic future, with Fico having promised to stop sending weapons to Ukraine, to block Kyiv’s potential NATO members...DA: 22-year-old arrested for shooting mother, her friend in Lexington

NEEDHAM — If you were to take a ride down Greendale Avenue in Needham lately, you would notice there is a sense of excitement in the air. That’s because the football program at St. Sebastian’s is looking to defend a share of the ISL-7 title and they’ve lived up to expectations so far.Junior quarterback Ty Ciongoli finished 14-for-22 passing with 205 yards and a trio of touchdowns, as St. Sebastian’s won its second straight game to begin the ISL season with a convincing 35-7 romp of rival Nobles on Saturday.“We felt like we had a good plan going in for both games we’ve had,” Ciongoli said. “Both offensively and defensively. That’s what happened. It’s preparation. We’re prepared like we should be.”Early in the game, the Arrows methodically moved their way to the Bulldogs’ 6. After faking a handoff, Ciongoli uncorked a pass and was promptly leveled.“We were in the red zone,” Ciongoli said. “I kinda knew they were going to blitz, and we had a play action thing going. WRENTHAM — What could have turned into a disaster for Marrietta O’Connell at Saturday’s Frank Kelley Invitational merely became only a slight inconvenience for the Marblehead harrier.Racing in the small school junior/senior event at the Wrentham Developmental Center, O’Connell built a 40-yard lead and was in complete control. And then came a freak occurrence that has proved devastating for runners far more experienced than O’Connell. She lost a shoe with three-quarters of a mile left in the 3,000-meter race. Running on the wet, spongy grass with one shoe didn’t rattle the sophomore one iota, but only reaffirmed her toughness in competition. She continued to bear down on the pace to the end, winning easily in 10 minutes, 51.2 seconds.O’Connell broke up the pack early on as she tore through the opening mile in 5:30 and was never threatened even with one shoe. She finished comfortably ahead of Whitinsville Christian freshman Abby Flagg (11:10.2) and Me...Latest news
