(KRON) -- Four people, including two juveniles, were arrested Sunday afternoon for stealing thousands of dollars worth of fragrances from a Sephora, according to the San Mateo Police Department.Around 2:30 p.m., SMPD received a call from Sephora regarding three suspects who stole several bottles of fragrances and fled the store into a waiting car. The security officer at the Sephora was able to provide police with the license plate and description of the suspect car, officials said. San Mateo police located the suspect car attempting to merge onto Highway 101. Officers conducted a traffic stop and found four people inside of the car. CHAPEL HILL (WNCN) — Police have released a photo of a gunman at large on or near UNC-Chapel Hill's campus on Monday afternoon. According to the UNC website, the suspect image matches an ID photo for a student named Tailei Qi. The alert, which went out at about 1 p.m. urged everyone on the school's campus to stay inside and avoid windows.A massive presence of law enforcement and EMS vehicles are lining the road outside of the Genome Sciences Building and South Road is largely blocked off. (KRON) -- A Vacaville man was arrested early Monday morning after leading police on a vehicle pursuit, according to the Petaluma Police Department. Around 12:09 a.m., an officer attempted a traffic stop on a silver Hyundai Elantra that was traveling at a high rate of speed on East D Street. The car was seen crossing into oncoming lanes of traffic for several hundred feet, the police department said. The driver of the Hyundai, William Dye, refused to pull over and drove through several red traffic lights in an attempt to flee from the police officer. Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies assisted in the pursuit of the Hyundai, police said. The 34-year-old eventually lost control of his car as he attempted to turn onto Highway 1. The Hyundai drove off the roadway and collided with a dirt embankment causing damage to the driver's side front tire, PPD said. (KRON) -- Credit card skimmers are on the rise in the Bay Area, according to the San Pablo Police Department. San Pablo PD got a call Sunday from a local business that located a credit card skimmer on one of their checkout terminals during a routine check.San Pablo PD credited the vigilance of the store's employees in finding the skimmer "before it was too late." The skimmer was removed from the terminal and handed over to the police.A photo of the skimmer was posted on San Pablo PD's Facebook. (AP) — A medical rescue helicopter caught fire and broke apart shortly after takeoff Monday before crashing into an apartment complex near Fort Lauderdale, killing a paramedic captain on board and a resident on the ground, authorities said. As a chronic housing shortage plagues the U.S., some cities have seen massive booms in apartment construction to fill demand. According to a new RentCafe report, these apartments are largely for the well-to-do renters in a handful of U.S. metro areas.
