Vail Resorts has plans to transform the way guests select and pick up rental gear with the creation of a unique program called My Epic Gear, revealing the concept in a news release on Monday.Users will be able to select the gear they want to rent through an app and it will be delivered to them if they are staying at lodging within a resort area. If not, they will be able to pick it up and drop it off via slopeside valet service, eliminating the need to stand in line at a ski shop. They also will be able to change their gear selections throughout the season, such as choosing skis specifically designed for skiing powder on days when fresh powder is anticipated. My Epic Gear won’t be fully available until the winter of 2024-25, but a “pilot season” next winter will make it an option for a “limited number” of Epic Pass holders at four of the company’s resorts, all in Colorado — Keystone, Breckenridge, Vail and Beaver Creek. When the program is lau...Runaway tire launches car into midair spin on 118 Freeway in Los Angeles: Video

Dash-cam footage from a Tesla captured the moment a vehicle on a Southern California freeway ran over a tire that had just come off a nearby pickup truck, launching the car into a midair spin. The incident occurred on Mar. 23 on the 118 Freeway in Chatsworth and was caught on Anoop Khatra’s dashboard camera. Video shows traffic moving along the roadway when a dark-colored vehicle approaches a pickup truck that had just transitioned into the middle lane. Moments later, the truck’s front driver’s side tire pops off right in front of the dark-colored car. The driver of the dark-colored vehicle runs over the tire and shoots into a midair spin before crashing back onto the freeway hood first and rolling back right side up. As if that weren't scary enough, video also shows the tire coming back into frame and slamming into the wreckage of the vehicle as it skids to a stop. Taylor Swift fans gathered outside a downtown Los Angeles federal courtroom Monday morning to rally ahead of a hearing on the Ticketmaster debacle involving the pop star's Eras Tour. Fans are suing Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation, claiming they violated consumer protection and antitrust laws.Laura Watson, a Swiftie who traveled from Florida to join the rally, shared her frustrations with trying to buy tickets."(It's) always a disaster. It's not ever easy," she told KTLA. "It should be way easier than what it is."Dallas lawyer Griffin McMillin says he began gauging interest in a class action lawsuit by posting to social media, and the results snowballed from just a couple of plaintiffs to hundreds. "(There were) people who wanted ADA tickets that couldn't get them and they were selling them to people who won't even know they were taking away ADA tickets. It's such a simple fix and they don't care. And if we don't care who will?" McMillion told KTLA 5's Annie Rose Ram...Man accused of sexually assaulting 9-year-old girl at Orange County library

Israeli-born chef Aliza Grayevsky Somekh is known for her seders. Ever since moving from Jerusalem to the Bay Area in 2012, the Oakland-based chef has been organizing and cooking the Passover meal for the greater community through her food and catering business, Bishulim SF.She’d often welcome up to 85 friends and strangers — Jews and non-Jews alike — with matzo ball soup and lead them in a retelling of the Exodus story that was inclusive and relevant. During the pandemic, those Passover meals were stuffed into boxes and delivered to guests who met on Zoom. Needless to say, Somekh has been eager to return to in-person seders.“Last year wasn’t the right time, because people weren’t excited to sit together yet,” says Somekh, who is teaming up with Oakland’s Mica Talmor for a first-time community seder at Talmor’s restaurant, Pomella, on April 6. “Now, they are ready. And working with Mica is a no-brainer. (Pomella) is the rig...Latest news
