San Mateo County Fair returns to town June 3 The San Mateo County Fair is returning to town next weekend – complete with racing pigs, live concerts, carnival rides, and tributes to all kinds of Bay Area communities.The fair’s roots are deep, according to event organizers: it was originally called “The Little Flower Show” in 1926. Nearly a century later, 2023’s fair will take place between June 3 to 11, with a combination of live entertainment, competitions, and other festivities.This year, the fair will host Family Pride Day, Senior Day, and Pacific Islands Day, along with others honoring veterans and farmworkers. East Bay woman charged after victim dies from fentanyl overdose (KRON) -- An East Bay teenager is facing federal charges in connection to a fatal fentanyl overdose death. Jianna Coppedge, 19, appeared in United States District Court in Oakland Tuesday to face a charge that she distributed fentanyl in the form of counterfeit "M30" pills.A criminal complaint filed against Coppedge was unsealed Tuesday. The complaint describes a transaction in which Coppedge sold "M30" pills containing fentanyl to a person who later died from an overdose.Prosecutors charged Coppedge with distribution of fentanyl. If convicted, she could face 20 years in prison and $1 million in fines.Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth Chambers is prosecuting the case.
