In July when president Dwight Colton of the The Fish Market restaurants announced the shutdown of the last two in the Bay Area, he vowed to “preserve the memory of our founders – and the memories created by millions of guests over the years – by closing in a fashion that upholds the restaurant’s original integrity and vision.”So the news was revealed more than two months early, giving customers plenty of time to head to the Palo Alto and San Mateo locations to enjoy their favorite dishes and say goodbye to employees, some of whom have been on the job for many years.Now, the restaurants are heading into their final weeks and, as promised, Colton and company have added menu specials and printed commemorative menus for guests to take home.With redevelopment on the horizon for both sites, the circa 1976 Palo Alto restaurant — the first in the group — will shut its doors after service on Sept. 13, and the San Mateo one, which opened in 1982, will close a week later, Sep...6 Bay Area sports bars to suit every type of football fan

(KRON) -- Emery High School in Emeryville has been evacuated due to a possible gas leak, the Alameda County Fire Department confirmed Tuesday morning. The smell of gas was reported just before 9 a.m. Tourist desperate to find French bulldog stolen in San Francisco A call for an evacuation was issued after that. PG&E has been called to the scene. (BCN) -- A teenager was rescued from being stuck on a cliff at a Half Moon Bay beach on Monday, according to Cal Fire. (KRON) -- Eleven drivers were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence during a three-week period through Labor Day weekend, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. The arrests were made as part of a national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign in which additional officers were deployed across the country in an effort to bust DUI drivers.In San Mateo County, 11 drivers were cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the sheriff's office. Several drivers were busted during patrols and two DUI arrests were made at a DUI checkpoint on Aug. 26. DENVER (KDVR) — In just three days, Canadian rapper Drake was expected to hit the stage at Ball Arena in Denver, but his show has been postponed. Due to high demand, Drake added a stop in the Mile High City for his highly anticipated "It's All a Blur" tour in April. The North American arena tour was originally announced back in March, but many fans were left disappointed when Denver was not on the original list of locations.
