CLARKSBURG, Mass. (NEWS10) -- A Vermont man charged in connection with the drowning of his young son in Berkshire County pleaded not guilty.Darrel Galorenzo was arraigned Monday on the charges of Manslaughter, Reckless Endangerment of a Child, Negligent Operating of a Motor Vehicle, and Operating Under the Influence. Investigators said Galorenzo was impaired when he crashed his car in Clarksburg early Saturday morning and tried to run away from responding officers. COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The governor's office is launching a new, statewide initiative to educate New Yorkers about the dangers of distracted driving. It's part of the national "U Drive. U Text. U Pay." campaign.Law enforcement throughout the state will be increasing patrols during the week. Rockies right-hander German Marquez left Monday’s game against the Cardinals just before the sixth inning with an apparent injury to his right arm. OAKLAND — Despite a defense argument that he has extensive medial issues, a 72-year-old man was sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in a so-called “open air drug market” in East Oakland.George Moore Jr. must report to the Bureau of Prisons to serve his two-year prison term by May 5, according to an order signed by U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers. Moore pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess cocaine base for distribution and being a felon in possession of a Mossberg shotgun, both federal offenses. and the sentence was handed down in late February.The defense argued for a 366-day prison term, and listed 19 medical conditions that Moore suffers from, including heart disease, as well as 17 different medications he needs. (KRON) -- A man was arrested for driving drunk in the North Bay city of Cotati on Saturday, police said. The man is accused of driving with a .21 blood alcohol content while his girlfriend and two children were in his truck. The Cotati Police Department responded to Wilford Lane at 11:20 p.m. for a reported battery. The reporting party said that the suspect was intoxicated and punched a family member. According to CPD, the suspect then tried to take two small children, who were the kids of his girlfriend, and drive away with them.
