ST. LOUIS -- A gasoline tanker truck crashed into a Metro transit center near Riverview and Hall Streets early Tuesday morning and knocked over a power pole. The pole is leaning on other power lines. Police have the area blocked off here because there is a downed power line. Ameren and Metro crews are also on the scene. The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. It's still unclear exactly what caused the crash, but we do that there was a second vehicle somehow involved. The airbags on that second vehicle did deploy. Parson signs laws for new moms’ health care, ban on texting while driving Police at the scene have not been able to give us a lot of details. ST. LOUIS -- Mostly sunny skies Tuesday, with highs in the mid 90s. More clouds around tonight, temps only fall into the low to mid 70s. Wednesday looks wet, with heavy rain and storms expected. But two scenarios are possible. One, thunderstorms drop south in the morning and move through with heavy rain, wind, and lightning. That would make for some cooler temperatures. Or morning storms could fall apart as they drop south early in the day. That would mean a hotter and very humid day and push the local storm chance to the afternoon and evening. We will have to watch this closely. Afternoon storms could bring some strong wind gusts and hail. South of the front, it will be hot and humid. To the north, temps won’t be as high.St. Louis Public Schools superintendent to be sworn in

Dear Amy: My husband and I have two children under the age of three. Most of the time when my husband watches the kids, he is on his phone.Even when our 11-month-old is practicing walking, he holds her by the arm as he walks with his eyes glued to his other hand, which is holding the phone. If I say something, he gets all defensive. With our first child, I called him a bad dad because he was always on his phone or just holding him watching TV (basically not interacting with his child). He was very hurt by this and said I was out of line and disrespectful for saying it. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind as much if he was doing something productive on the phone for the family (such as looking up recipes, researching something that broke, planning a family trip), but it is just videos or Reddit. To make me more upset, he does not consider this as “free time.” (He would like one to two hours a day (wouldn’t we all).“Free time” for him, or “personal care,” as he ca...Spain's People's Party could win absolute majority with Vox, poll shows

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal officials on Tuesday called for more testing and research on xylazine, the powerful animal sedative that’s spreading through the nation’s illicit drug supply, but they stopped short of recommending new restrictions on the veterinary medication.A six-point plan from the White House’s drug control office aims to scale up testing, treatment and efforts to intercept illegal shipments of xylazine, which is being mixed into fentanyl and other illicit opioids. The White House declared xylazine-laced fentanyl an “emerging threat” in April and called for a national strategy to combat its use. Xylazine, sometimes known as tranq, can cause breathing and heart rates to fall to dangerous levels when used in humans. When injected it can cause large open sores and infections, sometimes leading to amputation. In the report released Tuesday, drug czar Dr. Rahul Gupta said administration officials will “explore” making xylazine a scheduled drug, subject to regulatory res...Latest news
