Death investigation underway after Brightline train hits pedestrian in Pompano Beach The Broward Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a Brightline train in Pompano Beach that led to road closures.Just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, BSO deputies responded to the northbound lanes of North Dixie Highway, between Northeast Third Street and Northeast Sixth Street. Due to the ongoing investigation, those streets were closed off. Just south of the scene, the Brightline train was also stopped following the collision. As a result of the incident, travelers taking the Brightline train into the Pompano Beach area should expect delays.Drivers have been advised to seek alternate routes. Deadly shooting in Barrio Logan prompts investigation SAN DIEGO -- A deadly shooting in Barrio Logan has prompted a homicide investigation, authorities said. FOX 5's Elizabeth Alvarez is on scene at the intersection of 16th and Logan Avenue, where there's a heavy police presence and visible crime scene tape. Mayor says Coronado’s approach to homelessness works, but would it across the bay? Several roadways in the area, including portions of 16th and Commercial Streets, are currently blocked off as investigators probe the area. A police officer confirmed to FOX 5 that one person was fatally shot in front of what appears to be a green tent on a sidewalk in the area.
