The approved “jump of 12.8%” is totally out of control and will not be the only additional cost to consumers. Every consumer product that depends on electricity to manufacture will cost more. The future in which all new homes and buildings are coated with solar energ...Senator’s son charged in crash that killed North Dakota deputy

CLEVELAND (AP) — Joe Flacco has gone from the couch to contention.Signed three weeks ago by Cleveland as emergency protection when quarterback Deshaun Watson was lost with a season-ending shoulder injury, Flacco has a chance to get the Browns into the playoffs — a scenario not even he could have imagined.“It’s invigorating, for sure. It’s exciting,” Flacco said. “This is what you want.”Flacco is expected to make his second start for Cleveland on Sunday as the Browns (7-5) host the Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4), who are dealing with their own major issue at quarterback after Trevor Lawrence suffered a high ankle sprain against Cincinnati.Though hobbled, Lawrence managed to practice some this week, leaving open the possibility he’ll play in a game with major AFC postseason implications. If he can’t, the Jaguars will start backup C.J. Beathard, who played two series Monday night after Lawrence went out.“Whoever’s up, whoever’s rolling, we’re looking to go full spee...Jags employee charged with stealing $22M gambled away 99% of funds, plans guilty plea, lawyer says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — A former Jacksonville Jaguars financial manager accused of stealing more than $22 million from the franchise has a gambling addiction and plans to plead guilty to resolve federal charges against him, his attorney said Thursday.Attorney Alex King of First Coast Criminal Defense in Jacksonville released a statement on behalf of his client, Amit Patel, and said “approximately 99% of the funds misappropriated” from the team’s virtual credit card program were gambled away. The NFL met with Patel in February as part of an investigation into his gambling, most of which took place on two prominent websites. The Jaguars subsequently suspended and later fired Patel, King said.“Mr. Patel suffers from a serious gambling addiction, and in the spring of this year, checked himself into extensive, inpatient rehabilitation to address his addiction,” King said. “Mr. Patel’s serious gambling addiction does not excuse his actions, which he takes full responsibility ...Javonte Williams’ relatively quick recovery from knee injury has helped shape Broncos’ offense

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Joe Lombardi expected exactly the tough yards and gritty offensive identity that running back Javonte Williams has provided the Denver Broncos this season — only he envisioned it happening in 2024.The Broncos offensive coordinator arrived in Denver this spring along with new coach Sean Payton and the two of them studied the tantalizing film of Williams’ rookie year in 2021 before his second season was cut short by a complex right knee injury. Soon, they began to see that same player on the field as Williams embarked on his comeback. Still, Lombardi said he was cautioned not to get his hopes up.“They’re like, ‘Look, you can’t count on a guy who’s had this injury no matter how well he’s rehabbing, no matter how hard he’s working. History tells you that it’s a two-year injury,'” Lombardi said. “And he’s defied that.”Williams was selected as the team’s Ed Block Courage Award winner at a team meeting on Thursda...Fiscales federales presentan un nuevo caso penal contra Hunter Biden

EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — Jordan Hicks took a blow to the shin during a routine tackle for the Minnesota Vikings in the first quarter of a game last month and figured he just had a deep bruise. After returning to action, the ninth-year veteran linebacker began to realize after halftime his right leg was growing weaker. He nearly rolled his ankle while trying to make a cut because his strength was so sapped, prompting him to seek attention on the sideline again.Once Hicks made it to the training room, with the adrenaline worn off, he spiraled into a cauldron of searing pain that forced him to curl up in the fetal position unable to focus on anything but breathing.“It is the deepest, darkest ache you can probably imagine,” Hicks said. The team’s medical staff diagnosed him with compartment syndrome, a freak buildup of pressure in and around the muscles caused by internal bleeding or swollen tissues that can cause severe damage or even death if left untreated. So Hicks had to be rushed ...Latest news
