The Ravens fizzled in the fourth quarter, while the Browns popped. The Ravens led 31-17 early in the fourth quarter Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium and looked poised for their fifth straight win. But Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson led three scoring drives in the final 11:34, Lamar Jackson threw a pick-six and Baltimore lost, 33-31, for the first time in over a month. The Browns trailed by one — because of a missed extra point after Greg Newsome’s pick-six with 8:16 left — with about five minutes remaining when they regained possession as Jackson and the Ravens’ offense continued to flounder. The Colorado Avalanche is dealing with its first significant bit of short-term injury-induced adversity, but there is clarity with one of its long-term concerns.Pavel Francouz will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season, the club announced Sunday. He has not been on the ice with the team this season. Francouz, originally projected to be the No. 2 goaltender behind Alexandar Georgiev, played in only one of the team’s final 33 games last season and had offseason surgery.Francouz has been a successful goalie for the Avs when healthy, but remaining so has been difficult. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent after this season. He joins Gabriel Landeskog on the list of players who will not return this season, though there could be a long-shot hope that the club’s captain might make it back at some point during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.Related ArticlesColorado Avalanche | Hockey Heals provides community, love for players facing life-threatening adversity: R...Former Avalanche GM Pierre Lacroix, “a mountain of a sports figure in the Rockies,” earned his place in Hockey Hall of Fame

Craig Button vividly remembers the day Pierre Lacroix first called him to ask about Derek Morris.Lacroix was already a two-time Stanley Cup champion as general manager of the Colorado Avalanche, but he also had a well-earned reputation for swinging huge trades. This was in 2002, as the Avs were nearing the end of the Patrick Roy era, and he was looking for a way to get his championship core to make one more run at a championship.“Pierre would phone and said, ‘Hey, would you ever consider trading this player?’” Button, who was the Calgary Flames’ GM from 2000 to ’03 said. “He said, ‘Look, we’re looking for that type of defenseman.’ I said, ‘Pierre, I’ll be straightforward with you. I’m not looking to trade Derek Morris. If I’m going to trade a defenseman like that, I’m going to need a really good player back.’ We were looking to bolster our center position, so I said Chris Drury’s name.“Pierre goes, ‘Oh, Craig, oh no. … I can’t trade Chris Drury.’ ...Bella Murekatete scores 16, No. 24 Washington St. women beat Idaho State 64-47
