CHICAGO — The iconic South Side Irish Parade was back in action Sunday, keeping the St. Patrick's Day celebrations rocking and a rolling across Chicago."The South Side is better. AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin man faces three separate charges after police said he kidnapped a woman on March 5 in east Austin, according to Travis County court documents.According to records, Little Abe Hill, 40, faces felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.An APD report said on March 5, at approximately 3:30 a.m. dispatch received a call to the intersection of East 14th Street and Comal Street saying a man in a black sedan abducted a woman at gunpoint and left the scene in the vehicle.The caller said he was in downtown with the woman, and after a night of drinking, they attempted to hail a rideshare. The report claims that a black sedan driven by Hill pulled up to the victims, and believing the vehicle to be a rideshare, they both sat in the backseat. A man is dead and a woman has been arrested after a stabbing Saturday evening in St. Paul’s Summit-University neighborhood, police say.Officers responded about 7:15 p.m. to a report of an assault at the intersection of Marshall Avenue and Arundel Street, where they found a man sitting next to his vehicle, suffering from a stab wound to his chest, according to a news release issued Sunday by the St. Paul Police Department.The officers administered first aid until St. Paul Fire Department paramedics arrived and took the man to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.On Sunday, homicide investigators located the crime scene at a residence in the 700 block of Dayton Avenue and arrested a 51-year-old woman who lived there. NEW YORK — The U.S. government took extraordinary steps Sunday to stop a potential banking crisis after the historic failure of Silicon Valley Bank, assuring depositors at the failed financial institution that they would be able to access all of their money quickly.The announcement came amid fears that the factors that caused the Santa Clara, California-based bank to fail could spread, and only hours before trading began in Asia. (KRON) -- Silicon Valley Bank will not be protected by a federal bailout after its failure, but depositors will have access to all of their funds as soon as Monday, according to the U.S. Department of Treasury.
