LOS ANGELES — The Mets found three heroes in three games over the weekend in a sweep of the Oakland Athletics and that’s exactly what they were looking for. With nine guys on the field and eight more in the bullpen, the Mets want to emphasize playing a solid team game and not being overly reliant on one big bat or one big arm.Baseball can often be an individual sport disguised as a team sport but games are won and lost as a team. It might sound cliche to say but the Mets really do need contributions from just about everyone if they want to come away from this 12-day, 10-game road trip with a winning record.“Coming out here for two weeks is a really big challenge for us,” said first baseman Pete Alonso. “We played really good ball this series and we want to keep playing great team baseball for the rest of the road trip.”Alonso had a massive home run in the third game of the series in Oakland, driving one 430 feet to tie the game and give the Mets a...Fans pour on the enthusiasm for the 127th Boston Marathon

A feeling of joy rang back and forth across the race course in whoops, hollers, cowbells, noisemakers and cheers at the 127th Boston Marathon — a resounding, unified sentiment from the Boston Strong community.“We’ve come a long way from 10 years ago,” said Dave Biele, cheering on a friend running the race around mile 22 at Cleveland Circle. “This is the kind of thing that won’t be held back or kept down.”The 10 year mark from the tragedy saw a marathon community holding onto the solidarity and pride to come out of the horrific event — the cutting edges of the bombings long-tempered through a decade of support and resilience, while emblazoned “Boston Strong” and “Never Forget” messages kept the memory alive.Crowds lining the barricades throughout the 26.2 miles braved soggy, cold weather to cheer on loved ones or just join in on the enthusiasm.“It’s a great day, even though the weather’s horribl...Pentagon revokes access, ‘culling through’ lists to highly classified information after Massachusetts Guardsman Jack Teixeira accused of leak
