JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri State Capitol has been transformed into an extension of the Chiefs' Kingdom this week, with fans traveling from around the state to see one of sport's holiest grails.It was an unusual day of Missouri politics inside the Capitol Tuesday as the Super Bowl trophy sat front and center in the rotunda. NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The New Haven-Berger Fire Protection District mourns the loss of one of its own. Firefighter Lloyd Ruediger recently died in the line of duty.Ruediger dedicated 59 years of his life to the New Haven community. He was 84 years old.Ruediger was a volunteer fire department. The fire district says he died Monday after responding to a house fire the evening before. He suffered a cardiac arrest. A Greeley teenager has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend about four weeks after the 15-year-old victim tried to end their relationship, authorities said Tuesday.Jovanni Sirio-Cardona, 16, faces multiple charges as an adult in connection with the June 16 shooting death of Lily Silva-Lopez, according to the Weld County District Attorney’s Office.Officers responded to a trailer home on a report of a shooting and found Silva-Lopez, who had been shot multiple times, a DA’s news release said. She died at the scene.Investigators with the Greeley Police Department allege that Sirio-Cardona approached the home unannounced, forced entry through the victim’s bedroom window and shot Silva-Lopez in a hallway of the residence. A University of Colorado Boulder professor filed a lawsuit Friday against the university and a dean of the law school for discrimination and retaliation.CU Boulder law professor Paul Campos alleges he was discriminated against with unequal pay because of his Latino ethnicity and punished for taking paternity leave as evidenced by a low annual review score. When Campos reported the discrimination to the university, he alleges he faced retaliation from the dean of the law school and the university.“The University of Colorado Boulder recently became aware of the lawsuit Mr. Campos has filed against the university,” a CU Boulder spokesperson said. “As this lawsuit has just been served, the campus must review it and determine the appropriate course of action.
