CHICAGO — During the COVID-19 pandemic, as people spent more time at home, vintage shopping became all the rage. Across the country people tried to furnish their homes with hard-to-find items that couldn’t be purchased at big box stores.Between West Lakeview and Roscoe Village, West Belmont Avenue in Chicago has become the city’s antique avenue. It’s a collection of vintage shops, where the displays dance and time stands still.House 15, located at 1828 Belmont, is the smallest storefront on the stretch. It is is named for the birth date shared by its owners, mother and daughter Laurie and Sloan Jones.“We are House 15 because my mom and I were both born on June 15. ST. LOUIS – A man fears his pregnant wife may give birth on the lawn of St. Louis City Hall. The couple lives there in a tent. The City of St. Louis has been allowing people to live there, as well as on city sidewalks and alleys.A group of residents in south St. Louis took action on their own Tuesday.It’s been four weeks since FOX 2 first told you about a makeshift shelter made from blankets and shopping carts in front of someone’s house on the sidewalk at Chippewa and Spring in south St. Louis.The City of St. Louis has allowed a couple to stay there for two years. Two suspects were arrested after allegedly stealing around $25,000 worth of designer sunglasses from a shopping mall in Downey.The theft took place at the Sunglass Hut store in the Stonewood Center on Sept. 8, according to the Downey Police Department.Store officials said the suspects entered the shop and ransacked the display cases and shelves, taking a large quantity of sunglasses before fleeing the store.The suspect’s vehicle was later spotted driving around in Beverly Hills by police. The suspects were pulled over. The D.C. area is bracing for heavy rain and damaging winds Tuesday night as severe thunderstorms roll through the region.The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northwestern D.C. and southeastern Montgomery and northwestern Prince George’s counties in Maryland. Mauney announced his retirement Tuesday, a week after breaking his neck in the Lewiston Roundup.The 36-year-old Mauney, from Charlotte, North Carolina, said on Instagram he had surgery at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston that required the removal of a disk.“Surgery went great, and I would like to thank everyone … for taking care of me,” Mauney wrote. “Unfortunately with the surgery, it ended my bull riding career.
