LOS ANGELES (AP) — Brandon Crawford singled in the go-ahead run in the 11th inning, and the San Francisco Giants rallied to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-5 on Friday night after getting no-hit for six innings by Emmet Sheehan in his major-league debut. The Dodgers’ bullpen imploded once again, giving up five runs after Sheehan departed. But they rallied to tie it at 5 in the ninth on Freddie Freeman’s infield single to second off Camilo Doval. They had the potential winning run at third in the 10th but pinch-hitter Austin Barnes took a called third strike to end the inning.Designated runner Patrick Bailey began the 11th at second and took third on Mike Yastrzemski’s sacrifice fly to center off Alex Vesia (0-4). James Outman fired to third in an attempt to get Bailey, whose left foot came over the bag. But the tag didn’t stay on his right knee and he was called safe in a play that was reviewed.Crawford, who was hitless in his first four at-bats, singled to right, sco...Gallen strikes out 7 as the Diamondbacks beat the Guardians 5-1 to end a 3-game slide

PHOENIX (AP) — Forget those questions about Zac Gallen’s velocity. Arizona’s ace can still bring it.And he’s still the Diamondbacks’ best answer to a losing streak.Cranking out mid-90s fastballs early, Gallen (8-2) struck out seven in six effective innings and the Diamondbacks ended a three-game losing streak by beating the Cleveland Guardians 5-1 on Friday night.“Raise the alarms,” Gallen joked. “I think we can put that to rest. I felt like the ball was coming out of my hand a little bit better, certainly feel a little bit of a semblance of how I wanted to feel.”The Diamondbacks bounced back from losing three of four to Philadelphia with a solid all-around game to kick off Cleveland’s first series at Chase Field since 2017.Gallen was sharp coming off a rare shaky start, giving up a solo homer to José Ramírez in the fourth inning and four singles. Arizona took advantage of five walks by last-minute Cleveland starter Touki Toussaint (0-1) to take an earl...Doctors advise people over 60 to stay indoors as India’s northern state swelters in extreme heat

This much is clear: On June 9, an old steel fishing trawler left eastern Libya for Italy, carrying far too many people. As many as 750 men, women and children from Syria, Egypt, Palestine and Pakistan were on board, fleeing hopelessness in their home countries and trying to reach relatives in Europe.Five days later, the trawler sank off the coast of Greece in one of the deepest parts of the Mediterranean Sea, in what is likely one of the deadliest shipwrecks in recent Mediterranean history. Only 104 people, all men, survived. The remains of 78 people were recovered. There are still more questions than answers about what led up to one of the worst shipwrecks in recent Mediterranean history.Activists, migration experts and opposition politicians have criticized Greek authorities for not acting earlier to rescue the migrants, even though a coast guard vessel escorted the trawler for hours and watched helplessly as it sank.Below is a timeline of events based on reports from Greek authorit...AP’s Global Week in Pictures: June 10 – June 16
