LOS ANGELES — Joey Gallo’s stay in Southern California last season was brief, so the list of highlights and achievements is short. Griffin Jax reminds him of one of those highlights — an opposite-field three-run home that he hit off the reliever — from time to time.“Probably one of the best moments in a short-lived Dodger career was against the Twins,” Gallo said. “It was pretty fun.”That short stint in Los Angeles provided Gallo a lifeline out of New York, a place where he admits “mentally, it was tough” for him. For that, Gallo said he was “really appreciative.” The slugger returned to Dodger Stadium, a place he called home for just a few months, this week in a much different — and better — place than when he arrived last August via trade.Given an offseason to reset, the version of Gallo the Twins have seen has been everything they could have hoped for when they signed him to a one-year free-agent deal. The county says they are incapable of receiving and sustaining the volume of migrants or asylum seekers that New York City intends on delivering.
