A former employee of the Harvard Medical School morgue is a member of an alleged human remains trafficking ring the feds have arrested.“Some crimes defy understanding,” said U.S. Attorney for the District of Middle District of Pennsylvania Gerard M. A one-time Alameda County Sheriff’s Office medical coordinator has been sentenced to five years of formal felony probation after pleading no contest to two charges that he committed sexual battery under the false pretense of having a professional purpose.Judge Scott Patton also sentenced 67-year-old Robert Trapp to 12 therapy sessions over a 12-month period.The agreement allows Trapp to avoid jail or prison time. The search has been suspended for a man who reportedly fell from a Mendocino Headlands cliff, witnessed only by a tourist.The fall was reported around 8:15 p.m. Saturday, June 10, by the out-of-towner, who said he had been on the bluffs south of the town of Mendocino when he saw a man “fall a great distance from the cliff” and land in the ocean, the Mendocino County sheriff’s office said.The man was last seen floating face-down.A search using boats, drones and a helicopter was conducted until nightfall Saturday and again on Sunday. (KRON) -- An Antioch police officer who was terminated for using unreasonable force against an individual during a traffic stop has been charged with assault, the Antioch Police Department said Wednesday. Antioch PD Officer Matthew Nutt was fired as a result of an internal investigation stemming from a traffic stop on July 1, 2022.Then-officer Nutt stopped a driver for not displaying a license plate and learned he had an outstanding felony warrant for shooting an inhabited dwelling or occupied vehicle and conspiracy. The driver was placed under arrest but put up physical resistance. Nutt deployed a series of punches and kicks along with knee and elbow strikes against the suspect, police said. (KRON) – A man, who is on post-release supervision, was arrested Thursday morning during a traffic stop after an officer found him to be in possession of a firearm, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.At 12:05 a.m., a traffic stop was conducted by an officer for a vehicle code violation on Corby Avenue. After approaching the car, the officer recognized the driver and passenger from prior contacts, SRPD said. Suspect in Mission District mass shooting taken into custody The passenger, Mark Moore, was on post-release community supervision. The 53-year-old was therefore subject to a search, in order to ensure he was complying with his recent custody release, SRPD said. DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — A songwriter and music industry entrepreneur from Atlanta has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing his girlfriend in Iowa.Justin Wright was found guilty of first-degree murder in April in the death of 20-year-old Wilanna Bibbs, and was sentenced Wednesday, the Quad-City Times reported.Wright, 34, also known as J Wright, founded Camp Entertainment Worldwide in 2011. His company worked with artists that included Bow Wow, Timbaland, Kash Doll and DJ Khalid, and he became a multi-platinum songwriter working with those acts.Bibbs, an aspiring singer from Durham, North Carolina, was shot to death on May 9, 2021, at a home in Davenport, Iowa.
