DENVER (KDVR) — For a city full of dogs, Denver leash laws aren't straightforward. There's no specific law that says a dog must be on a leash in Denver, it only states that the dog can't be running at large off a leash. That being said, there's only a handful of dogs that will stay by your side in a wide-open field. Emergency crews responded to an abandoned airport following a report of a plane down in the Opa-locka area. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) dispatched an Air Rescue South unit to the area of Northwest 186th Street and Northwest 137th Avenue where they had a helicopter land on an old runway that was once part of Opa-locka West Airport.Live video footage showed the aircraft just feet away from a tree as it stopped on a patch of land just outside of an abandoned airport. Sources said the plane, which had a male and female passenger aboard, belonged to the Wayman Aircraft which is based out of North Perry Airport, located in Pembroke Pines. It is unclear what caused the plane to land in the area. Details are limited, but officials have been reached for more information on the incident. DAVENPORT, Fla. (WSVN) — A community’s collective efforts led to a heartwarming outcome as a 3-year-old boy with autism, who had gone missing earlier in the day, was found safe and sound. On Tuesday, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office issued an urgent plea for assistance in locating Thomas, the young boy who had managed to slip out of his house in the early morning hours. As news of the missing child spread throughout the community, the Davenport neighborhood was soon abuzz with concerned residents, including Minchala.“I heard a lot of helicopters going around,” Minchala recounted. At least five people were taken to local hospitals following a construction accident in Bedford, according to authorities. Police told 7NEWS a crew was putting up a wall at a residential construction site on Dunster Road Wednesday morning when the wall reportedly to fall on several workers.Officials said that of the crew of some eight workers, five were brought to a hospital after the accident was called in around 7:35 a.m.In an update later in the morning, authorities said at least one worker was in critical condition and another had serious injuries after the accident. The remaining three were believed to have possibly minor injuries. SAN DIEGO -- Lifeguards are cracking down on illegal jet ski rentals following the death of a 12-year-old girl who was killed while paddle boarding in Mission Bay. The girl was hit by a jet skier near De Anza Cove three weeks ago. city officials are now targeting unlicensed jet ski rentals as a part of an ongoing enforcement effort to create a safer Mission Bay. “We have to achieve it through enforcement, but also education is the best way,” said James Gartland, Chief of the San Diego Lifeguards. SAN DIEGO -- A motorcyclist was seriously injured Tuesday after colliding with vehicle in San Pasqual, authorities said.A 26-year-old man was riding a BMW S1000 motorcycle northbound around 2 p.m. at 13900 San Pasqual Rd. when for unknown reasons the motorcycle crossed over into the southbound lanes of the roadway, the San Diego Police Department explained. San Diego Lifeguards cracking down on illegal boats, jet skis in Mission Bay At that same time, police say a 46-year-old man was driving a Toyota RAV4 southbound on San Pasqual Road. The Toyota collided with the motorcycle, ejecting the rider. According to SDPD, the rider sustained injuries to his left leg and internal organs. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life threatening injruies. SDPD's Traffic Division units responded to the scene and are handling the investigation.
