ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Ellen and it's about celebrating a divorce. Here's the email: Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime I'm in a sticky situation. My brother and sister-in-law are getting divorced after a 14 year marriage. It was not his idea, it was hers. I have been very close with my sister-in-law, and in fact I knew her before my brother did. Well now, my sister-in-law is having a divorce party and rented a beautiful house at the Jersey shore for a weekend this June to celebrate. She invited me and I'm thinking about going because it sounds like fun and a bunch of friends are going, but I don't want to hurt my brother's feelings. I would think he would understand that I was friends with her before they were even married. The rest of my family is telling me not to go, but I think I should be able to. It doesn't mean I don't love my brother. What do you think? Thanks so mu...Ask Amy: A “thin and fit” person tries to understand obesity

Dear Amy: I have always been thin and fit. I eat well and exercise.Like most people, I have friends and family who struggle terribly with weight issues.I have read volumes about the genetic origins of obesity and want to be sensitive to this issue.I can’t help but noticing, however, that the overweight people I know eat a lot more than I do, exercise less, and generally lead far less healthy lifestyles.Am I to believe they’re genetically prone to these behaviors? Please help me to understand the science!— Trying not to JudgeDear Trying not to Judge: To quote author Roxanne Gay: “When you’re overweight, people project assumed narratives onto your body and are not at all interested in the truth.”If you truly wanted to understand the science, you would have gone ahead and digested (excuse the pun) the portion of research you’ve done, versus the choice you’ve made — to scratch your head in disingenuous wonderment that you witness overweight people eating more and moving less ...Net-Zero Industry Act: Making the EU the home of clean technologies manufacturing and green jobs

On 20 March, the Commission proposed the Net-Zero Industry Act to scale up manufacturing of clean technologies in the EU and make sure the Union is well-equipped for the clean-energy transition. This initiative was announced by President von der Leyen as a part of the Green Deal Industrial Plan. The Act will strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of net-zero technologies manufacturing in the EU, and make our energy system more secure and sustainable. It will create better conditions to set up net-zero projects in Europe and attract investments, with the aim that the Union's overall strategic net-zero technologies manufacturing capacity approaches or reaches at least 40% of the Union's deployment needs by 2030. This will accelerate the progress towards the EU's 2030 climate and energy targets and the transition to climate neutrality, while boosting the competitiveness of EU industry, creating quality jobs, and supporting the EU's efforts to become energy independent.European Co...New head National Bank of Ukraine

The National Bank of Ukraine was named the finest central bank for the year 2022 on March 13 by the famous British journal Central Banking. Despite severe shocks, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) preserved macroeconomic and financial stability, according to Central Banking. The list of NBU accomplishments during the invasion by the Russians is tremendous. Despite Russian armies attacking Kyiv and millions of Ukrainians fleeing to the EU, the Ukrainian National Bank managed to survive the panic and maintain control of the national currency. Nonetheless, the NBU managed to fulfil all of its obligations and keep the country's banking system operational despite the fact that the economy had essentially stopped. The NBU was fortunate to be competent enough to resist the shock of the war, making the Ukrainian banking reform one of the few successful ones in the history of the nation.Yet, in the event that such a structure was successful, the chairman of the NBU would have had to resign ...Presale Codes for 3 Doors Down Away From The Sun Tour with Candlebox

“I don’t know,” the snail shrugs. “It all happened so fast.”I suspect that today’s declarer didn’t know what hit him. He reached 3NT after suppressing his four-card spade suit, but West led not a spade but the five of hearts. Dummy played low, and East took the king and shifted to the three of spades: queen, king, deuce. West returned the seven: five, nine, jack.LAST SPADESouth next let the jack of diamonds ride. When East won, he led his last spade, and West scored two more tricks with his A-8 over South’s 10-6. Down one, in less time than it takes to tell.South made an understandable but fatal error; he played too fast to the first trick. Instead of playing a low heart from dummy, South must grab the ace, lead a club to his hand and finesse in diamonds. He is sure of four diamonds, four clubs and a heart, and loses no more than two spades, a diamond and a heart.DAILY QUESTIONYou hold: S A K 8 7 H 5 2 D 6 4 2 C 8 6 3 2. The young woman with long pink hair claimed to be from Washington state. One day during the summer of 2020, she walked into the Chinook Center, a community space for left-wing activists in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and offered to volunteer.“She dressed in a way that was sort of noticeable,” said Samantha Christiansen, a co-founder of the Chinook Center. But no one among the activists found that unusual or alarming; everyone has their own style. They accepted her into the community. The pink-haired woman said her name was Chelsie. She also dropped regular hints about her chosen profession.“She implied over the course of getting to know her that she was a sex worker,” said Jon Christiansen, Samantha’s husband and another co-founder of the Chinook Center.“I think somebody else had told me that, and I just was like, ‘Oh, OK. That makes sense,’” said Autum Carter-Wallace, an activist in Colorado Springs. “I never questioned it.”But Chelsie’s identity was as fake as her long pink hair. T...Latest news
