GoFundMe for Chicago firefighter Andrew Price surpasses goal of $35,000 CHICAGO — A GoFundMe fundraiser created for the Chicago firefighter killed while battling a blaze in Lincoln Park has surpassed its goal of $35,000.Andrew “Drew” Price, 39, died Monday after responding to a fire at the Lincoln Station Bar and Grill in the 2400 block of Lincoln Avenue.According to officials, crews were working to extinguish the fire when Price, who was on the roof, fell through a light shaft. Crews say they had to cut a hole in a wall to get to Price and pull him from the burning building. Fire officials said Price was responsive when he was pulled from the building, before he was rushed to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He joined the department in March 2009 and was assigned to Truck 44 in 2015. Price, who would have turned 40 in January, was known as “Drew” by co-workers who described him as a health nut who loved his job. The GoFundMe was created by Price's sister-in-law with a goal of $35,000. Nearly 250K Honda vehicles recalled over issue that could cause engines to stall DETROIT (AP) — Honda is recalling nearly 250,000 vehicles in the U.S. because bearings can fail, causing the engines to stall and increasing the risk of a crash.The recall covers certain 2018 and 2019 Honda Pilot SUVs and Odyssey minivans and some 2017 and 2019 Ridgeline pickup trucks. Also affected are certain 2015 to 2020 Acura TLX cars and some 2016 to 2020 Acura MDX SUVs.Honda says in documents posted Friday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that connecting rod bearings in the engine can wear and seize due to a manufacturing error, damaging the engines. The engines could run improperly or stall while being driven, increasing the risk of a fire, crash or injury. Eye drops sold at Walmart, Target, CVS and Rite Aid recalled The automaker says in documents that it has 1,450 warranty claims due to the problem but no reports of injuries.Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the engines if needed. Man sentenced to federal prison for robbing 3 markets on St. Paul’s University Avenue A man has been sentenced to 14 and a half years in federal prison for robbing three University Avenue markets in St. Paul last year.Nicholas Antwain Dancy, 39, admitted to robbing Towfiq Grocery, Midway Grocery and Deli and Global Food and Mid Market between May 27 and June 5, according to federal court records. Dancy used a firearm to threaten the employees and demand cash, making off with less than $1,000 cash total from the three stores.Dancy, of St. Paul, pleaded guilty last July to three counts of Hobbs Act robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. Woman dies on I-64 Thursday in St. Charles County crash LAKE ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- A woman died in a St. Charles County crash on I-64 Thursday morning. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the victim as Karen Sweeney, 67, of Foristell.The crash report states that vehicles came to a stop on the highway at mile marker 4.4 because of traffic congestion near the intersection with 364. Sweeney's vehicle slammed into the back of a large pick-up truck. She was not wearing a seatbelt.First responders were called to the scene.
