After 6 days off...triple digits are back AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Since last Saturday, high temperatures in Austin at Camp Mabry had stayed under the 100º mark, but today ended our 6 day "cooler" stretch. We reached 102º Saturday afternoon and expect similar, if not slightly warmer temperatures for the next week or more as high pressure builds to our west.High pressure in controlWith the higher temperatures, and plenty of humidity, heat advisories have been issued from the National Weather Service for the Austin Metro and our eastern counties where heat index values (feels-like temperatures) may exceed 105º.Heat Advisory from Sunday afternoon through Monday eveningWhile rain chances are almost non-existent, there's been a recent hint in our computer models wanting to pop-up very isolated storms near and east of I-35 on Monday and Tuesday. I'll wait for a bit more agreement among other models before putting higher rain chances on our 7-day forecast, but just know that it's something we're looking at (and hoping for). The area of hig...

He used to watch and tell himself he wanted to be there someday. That day is finally here.“That’s always been one of my motivations,” he said. “That’s always been one of my goals, one of the things I wanted to do. I wanted to participate and I know you have to work. You have to work hard for it. No one’s...

He’ll get it done.”Hundreds of people crammed into a small space to hear the conversation; many more who couldn’t get in stretched their phones near the doors, desperate for even a look. “It truly means...
