DMV requiring eye exam retakes for some motorists CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. (NEWS10) -Thousands of drivers could potentially have suspended licenses after a Covid-era rule is set to expire on December 1, 2023. Drivers who self-certified their vision test from March 1, 2020, to August 31, 2021, have to retake the free exam."Once it started out, there was about 82,000 motorists. As the month went out, the initial letter was sent out and a lot of people came back. It is now down to about 50,000 motorists," stated Rensselaer County Clerk, Frank Merola. Missouri kids to be enrolled in Medicaid for 12 months starting next year JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - In the last seven months, more than 135,000 Missourians have been removed from the state's Medicaid program, and nearly half of them are children.Until April of this year, states were prohibited from removing anyone from Medicaid due to the COVID public health emergency. Now, as Medicaid renewals are once again required, they come at a time when the federal government will soon mandate yearlong coverage for kids."I think there's a lot of security for families in knowing that their child is going to have coverage for 12 months," communications director for the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) Caitlin Whaley said. Arrest made in deadly San Dimas follow-home robbery Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a deadly follow-home robbery that left one man dead in a residential San Dimas neighborhood.  Deputies responded to the 1800 block of Hawkbrook Drive just before 7 p.m. on reports of the incident. At the scene, authorities discovered the man, identified by the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner as Nicholas Simbolon, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Medical personnel with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and declared the 42-year-old dead at the scene.   L.A. Abandoned puppies at Hayward grocery store recovered by police (KRON) -- Four German Shepard puppies were found abandoned in a box at the store, the Hayward Police Department announced Thursday on Facebook. HPD officers responded after hours to an unnamed grocery store.The officers elected not to drop off the puppies at an after-hours shelter because of the cold weather conditions. Police say was 39 degrees at the time. (AP) — Star Memphis basketball recruit Mikey Williams pleaded guilty to one felony charge in a gun case on Thursday, and one of his attorneys said he does not expect the 19-year-old to face jail time.Williams had faced nine felony counts and up to 30 years in prison stemming from a shooting at his home on March 17 in which no one was injured. Williams pleaded guilty to one felony count of making a criminal threat and to a special allegation of using a firearm during the threat, attorney Randy M. Grossman said.In exchange, the other eight counts were dismissed and Williams was ordered to complete a gun safety course, attend anger management sessions and do 80 hours of community service.
