Third party a spoiler? Other parties driving voters awayRe: “Third-party candidate on state’s ballot could spoil Biden’s election,” June 17 commentaryMark Udall misses the point of national interest in third-party candidacies. It is not about tilting an election to a Democratic or Republican candidate. It is borne out of disgust with both parties and their years-long inability to capably govern. To assert that less than 10% of voters are “toss-up voters” ignores overwhelming evidence of shifts out of both major parties to non-partisanship — voters are desperate for new choices. Udall is doing the very thing voters are sick of — intransigently circling the wagons around his viewpoints. He contends a third-party candidacy would do nothing to solve our political challenges? Well, the two-party system has shown just how inept they are at the task. American voters are sick of politicians whose governing strategy is grounded in holding their ...Man shot in face at Dockweiler Beach, suspect gets car stuck in sand and flees on foot

CBD is the most dominant cannabinoid in hemp flowers, but it’s far from the only compound in this plant. Besides secondary cannabinoids like CBG and CBN, hemp has dozens of flavorful terpenes. These aromatic compounds give each hemp strain its unique scent. Currently, scientists estimate there could be hundreds of terpenes in hemp flowers, many of which we still haven’t discovered.Geraniol is one of the many terpenes found in hemp strains. Although geraniol isn’t as common as myrcene, beta-caryophyllene, or limonene, it can influence the “background” of many hemp strains. As people get more experienced smoking hemp flowers or using full-spectrum CBD oils, they may appreciate geraniol’s nuanced flavors. What Is The Geraniol Terpene? As mentioned in the intro, geraniol is a secondary terpene in many hemp strains. Like other hemp terpenes, you can find geraniol in various flowers, fruits, and herbs. Supersized housing projects are planned for Bay Area’s wealthiest cities. Is one coming to your neighborhood?

Eight-story condo buildings rising above the billionaire bedroom community of Los Altos Hills? Hundreds of apartments flanking the sprawling single-family subdivisions of Brentwood? A hundred and fifty homes perched high on a bucolic hillside in rural Marin County? These aren’t part of some fictional “Supersize the Suburbs” version of Monopoly. They’re among a growing number of jumbo housing projects developers are scoping out in the Bay Area’s most exclusive neighborhoods. And to the horror of some longtime residents, local officials could be helpless to halt construction. It’s all thanks to an until-recently forgotten provision in state housing law meant as a penalty for cities that fail to do their part to alleviate a deepening housing crisis. Developers have begun invoking the rule — dubbed the “builder’s remedy” — in hopes of pushing through projects that are much bigger than local zoning restrictions typically allow. So far thi...There must be a better way to teach drivers all of Tesla’s bells and whistles: Roadshow

Q: I really enjoy driving my Tesla 3, with its many enhanced safety features and AI-like tools. It’s fun for me as a software developer, but many of my less computer savvy (and potential luddite) friends have difficulty mastering their new cars. My car’s manual is only available online. At well over 200 pages, who really reads this??? The net result is that a lot of the stuff is not understood and does not get used. And having rented several cars recently, I find there is no consistency in safety features between brands. Manufacturers need to provide a brief written “getting started guide” to help drivers use the vehicles. This would make for safer and saner driving.Steve Brock, San JoseA: You make excellent points.Q: I am new to motorcycle riding on the freeway. On my southbound approach to Highway 101 near Oakland Road in San Jose, I noticed some bumpy road, coupled with standing water. I immediately recognized this trouble spot from reading your column.
