‘Life-threatening’ flash flooding in Leominster, Fitchburg; river flooding next risk In a dire warning, the National Weather Service posted alerts for “life threatening flash flooding” in the Leominster, Fitchburg Monday night.The weather service says the warning is for “flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.”A portion of Route 2 was closed in the area as the rains kept coming.The NWS added other towns nearby were also under the alert, including Westford, Gardner, Holden, Clinton, Athol, Pepperell, Tyngsborough, Groton, Winchendon, Lunenburg, Townsend, Littleton, Lancaster, Templeton, Rutland, Sterling, Ayer andWestminster.The Weather Service added: “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Some have been captured, but the operation was difficult because of the depth of a lake they are in, the media reports said.No injuries have been reported. No damage to Colorado Tower after fire at Red Ash Restaurant AUSTIN (KXAN) — There was no damage to the Colorado Tower after reports of a fire at the Red Ash Restaurant in downtown Austin on Monday evening, according to Cousins Properties.At approximately 6:30 p.m., a fire was reported in Red Ash, which is located on the ground floor of Colorado Tower, Cousins said.AFD said firefighters were working to extinguish the fire and remove smoke in a 30-story high-rise building at 303 Colorado Street.
