QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The name suggests that Adirondack Winery is all about the grapes. That may be true most of the time, but this weekend, something else is the apple of the local business' eye. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! From Friday to Sunday, Nov. 3-5, Adirondack Winery will celebrate the launch of Extreme Heights Cidery, a new branch of the Big Bay Road-based company made to brew up a new brand of hard cider. The brand is starting off tall with three varieties - each one named after one of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks. "Mt. Marcy" is a classic semisweet cider; "Algonquin" has notes of cranberry and ginger; and "Haystack" tastes like pumpkin pie. All three will be available to sip and sample at both tasting rooms.The High Peaks have a special meaning to the Pardy family, owners of the winery. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany FireWolves have unveiled a new uniform for the 2023-24 season, highlighting the Indigenous roots of lacrosse. The uniform features symbolic indigenous markings, representing Haudenosaunee tattoos, sky domes, and the Creator’s Game Legend. ST. ANN, Mo. -- A man is accused of pulling a gun on a sandwich shop clerk because they got his order wrong. James Demetrius Jackson IV, 29, has been charged with threatening a minor and his bond is set at $50,000, cash-only.According to St. Ann police, Jackson came into a Penn Station sandwich shop on October 19, 2023. He was angry about his order being wrong and threatened to shoot a 16-year-old employee working behind the counter. The victim told police that Jackson pointed the gun at him, threatened to shoot him, and said he would be back when the victim got off work. The store manager checked the store's order history and found that, after the food had been ordered in-store by Jackson, he called into the store complaining about the order being wrong. CLAYTON, Mo. -- Christopher Turner, 28, of Florissant, has been convicted of murder and armed criminal action. He was found guilty of murdering Charlisa Turner, his ex-wife, on July 31, 2021, in St. Louis County.The prosecution provided evidence, including home surveillance video that captured the murder. A woman sentenced Thursday for selling fentanyl that killed another woman in 2022 was the first to be sentenced under a new 2022 law that aims to fight the fentanyl epidemic, the Eighth Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced in a news release.Andrea Branco was sentenced Thursday in Larimer County to ten years in prison after pleading guilty in August to a charge of fentanyl distribution causing death, a Class 1 drug felony, after she sold the fentanyl to Kara Gorman that killed her Sept. 1, 2022, according to the news release.The charge, which became law in May 2022, carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.Eighth Judicial District Attorney Gordon P. Los Angeles General Medical Center is asking for help identifying an elderly woman found in Chinatown.The patient, believed to be approximately 90 years old, was recently found on North Broadway, hospital officials said. The circumstances were not released, but efforts to identify her have been unsuccessful thus far.The woman is 5-feet tall, weighs 91 pounds, and has "salt/pepper" hair and brown eyes.
